Strengths
What are your company’s strengths?
Occasionally we played stereo music from a battery operated boom box. My shoulders had never felt so clean as to feel the ripple of muscle underneath the skin of one’s arm. We humans take the muscle for granted. The structure of the body plays an important role in a man’s life when a boy recalls feeling the body’s pain under the skin. The body takes on an entirely new dimension. The wood cords had rings. The shapes under our human skin had nerves connected to veins. The tree roots pull water from below the ground underneath our feet. Muscles pumped blood throughout our bodies. The cold water entering our mouths when we were hot tasted better than chicken soup with sugar added. We were learning. We were connected to nature. The shower waiting in the bathroom at home after a long day brought a cascade of water shining down on our heads, necks, and lower back. This was unreal when working outside all day from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm. No shower felt so good. I will never forget the lawyer for the opportunity he brought us by letting us chop his forest for pick up trucks full of wood.
