List

There were studio apartments. Apartments with two bedrooms if my aunt wanted to join my mother. There was a guided tour of the Assisted Living resort with a list they handed me. Imagine the savings by calculating how much the Assisted Living costs compare to living alone at home. The guide took me on a tour: Educational programs at the university down the street, education programs within the building, yoga, tai chi, exercise, ride to the health club where seniors take water aerobic swimming classes. The lobby has a front desk with security. Nobody passes unless invited. The rooms have a 24 emergency response system with alarms near the showers, bathtubs, and beds in case somebody has a problem. Housekeeping is provided. The kitchen produces breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, and a tray service for people that are sick and can’t get away from their bed. One man was playing at the piano. The driver walked inside to check on passengers. The place provides free transportation to casinos for daily penny slots, blackjack, and bingo games. The dining room smelled wonderful. There was a library, ice cream parlor, and beauty shop. The women have their own beauty shop. The men have a barber shop. There are physicians across the street. They also offer in house podiatrist and in house respiratory therapy for people with problems breathing. The Easter Week when I visited had a Calendar of Events for April. Each day had at least four items. Casinos offer coupons, special meals for gamblers, and the rides from the Assisted Living resort were free. The casinos offered to pick people up and return them with limousines.
