Three jobs in New York City demanded three vertical portals: Computers, publishers, and teachers. I started to do computer work for attorneys from 6:00 am to 3:00 pm. Often the work was easy. I was paid $70 to change a printer cartridge after the attorney’s finger got cut trying to change the black and white ink cartridge. The website I used to reach clients was NYC Portfolio. In Santa Barbara, I had purchased Los Angeles Portfolio. Thinking ahead, I bought the domain names for New York viewers. I lived walking distance to Columbia University. In the afternoon after 4:00 pm near my apartment, I taught English to members of the Chinese Central Government visiting Columbia University. My students consisted of executives from Columbia, importers from Europe, and Turkish accountants. The education website I used to reach clients was NYC English. The friends invited me to late night meetings. There were parties in Tribeca, Soho, and East Village. People at the parties asked, “What have you published?” The next party, drinkers with cocktails asked, “What have you written?” The publishing world was upon me. Literary agents started to ask for websites. The classes where publishers taught writers asked me to check their website. The publishing firm paid me to test their websites for QA, Quality Assurance. The writer’s life was upon me. After all, I was born the same day as Hugh Hefner, April 9th, the publisher’s day to be born. So I developed a websites under the name NYC Writer for New York’s publishing industry. All vertical portals, I ended up creating a book around Donald Trump toys by selling toys with Donald Trump on a website called Trump Wigs. Orders came in from Miami and overseas as far away as cities like Tel Aviv.
