Terra firma is a Latin term for solid ground. Family members fought over this property. Gangs went to war. The FBI focused on the Outfit after violence broke out in Las Vegas. Code named Operation Pendorf, the FBI used new laws to install wiretaps, which brought down criminals across the nation. Politicians were paid off. Movie stars put to sleep. Their deaths blamed on suicide. A hit was scheduled to take out Sammy Davis Jr when he started dating Kim Novak. Another example was the suicide of Marilyn Monroe when she threatened to expose the secrets she carried from her affair with the Kennedy brothers. Joseph Kennedy controlled the Irish mafia as a bootlegger. His son became President of the United States. When the President attacked the mafia, the leaders had the President executed in Dallas, Texas. Jack Ruby was asked to clear his debts with the leaders by executing Oswald. The case went cold. Business continued. Meyer Lansky was overheard admitting, “We are bigger than U.S. Steel.” As the Mafia’s Accountant, Meyer Lansky invested his money in Las Vegas, Nevada.
