The Tea Party Express decided to start their marathon across the United States in Searchlight, Nevada. The Senate Majority Leader was born in the mining town. George Colton found gold with the help of a lamp called a search light in 1897. The gold helped Harry Reid all the way up to law school until Reid returned to Nevada to practice law as an attorney. With a similar story to Mayor Oscar Goodman, Harry Reid rose in the ranks as legislator, Lieutenant Governor, and took on Oscar Goodman as Goodman represented clients connected to the organized crime when Reid was Chairman of the Gaming Commission. Their relationship concerning the courts often appears closer than siblings fighting over attention from the same mother. By fighting for their clients, the two actually rose together in government. The weather was dusty as I drove to the Tea Party Express in Searchlight. I had a lot to think about: Goodman, Reid, the acting by Dick Smothers who played Harry Reid in the Casino film scene where DeNiro plays Lefty Rosenthal as Ace Rothstein argues with Smother’s Harry Reid character. Ace Rothstein and his defense attorney, Oscar Goodman are denied a fair trial. Politics prevails.

Ace Rothstein: You guys have to be kidding, adjourned? What do you mean adjourned? Mr. Chairman, Senator. You promised me a hearing, you won't allow me a hearing? You didn't even look at the FBI reports. When you were my guest, Mr. Chairman, Senator, at the Tangiers hotel, did you not promise me that I would have a fair hearing?
Senator: I was never... I was never your guest at the Tangiers.
Ace Rothstein: You were never my guest?
Senator: That's right.
Ace Rothstein: I never comped you? I don't comp you at least 2 or 3 times a month? At the Tangiers?
Senator: I... I would like to answer that at this time, Mr. Rothstein is being very typical to this point. He is lying. The only time I was at the Tangiers was when I had dinner with Barney Greenstein.
Ace Rothstein: Was I at that dinner? Tell me, was I at that dinner?
Senator: You were wandering.
Ace Rothstein: Was I at that dinner? Was I?
Senator: You were wandering around. You were in the... you were in the building.
