Ethics in Washington?
Reporting from Nevada on the Ensign Scandal : June 22, 2009; Fox news decided to guard the hen house. John Ensign was about to take Fox News down with his party, friends, and supporters. He reminded me of most gamblers that lie to their wives about being in the casino. He lied, denied, distracted questioning as if he had been lying about his gambling habit all his life and only now gotten caught gambling for the first time when the money trail spoke volumes to the press. John Ensign releases a statement June 22, 2009 accusing Doug Hampton of "outrageous" and "exorbitant" demands. Ensign returned to Washington DC, addresses the issue, and Washington sharks smell the blood of wounded seals swimming a dinner plate away from a casino buffet. Melanie Sloan, Director of Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington files a complaint with the Senate Ethics Committee. Three days ago as I write this sentence the Senate Ethics Committee issued a scathing report detailing John Ensign's criminal conduct.
