"It is with tremendous sadness that I officially hand over the Senate seat that I have held for eleven years," said Ensign. "The turbulence of these last few years is greatly surpassed by the incredible privilege that I feel to have been entrusted to serve the people of Nevada. I can honestly say that being a United States Senator has been the honor of my life.


"I know that my staff has been devoted to helping those in our state when they needed our assistance the most, and I hope that this will be the enduring legacy that we leave behind. As I close the door to this chapter of my life, I am left with memories that I will forever treasure. Traveling across our state during the years, I have heard incredible stories of strength, of struggle, and of compassion. I have met people who have forever changed me, and I can say that I will go through life a better person because of the struggle that I have been through and the support that I have received.

“While I stand behind my firm belief that I have not violated any law, rule, or standard of conduct of the Senate, and I have fought to prove this publicly, I will not continue to subject my family, my constituents, or the Senate to any further rounds of investigation, depositions, drawn out proceedings, or especially public hearings. For my family and me, this continued personal cost is simply too great.


“I am gratified that, after extended investigations, both the Department of Justice and the Federal Election Commission saw no grounds on which to charge me with improper conduct. I was hopeful that, with the closure of these investigations against me the wear and tear on my family and me would soon be over. This was not the case.



“As is its right, the Senate Ethics Committee is continuing its investigation of issues into which it has been inquiring for the past year and a half. Indeed, the Committee even decided recently to devote more resources to its investigation by hiring an outside counsel even though the issues have been viewed and reviewed by so many others.



"I came to office with the pledge to make this country a better place, but that pledge does not end with my resignation. I will continue to fight for a better country and for a future that our children deserve. I cannot fully express what serving the people of Nevada has meant to me, but I will try to repay them for their trust for the rest of my life.


"To the people of Nevada, I humbly say thank you for what you have given to me through the years. To my family, thank you for the support and love that you have shown me. To my staff, thank you for coming on this incredible journey with me and for standing by me despite the obstacles."

Book : John Ensign's Extramarital Mistress

The author for the book, John Ensign's Extramarital Mistress was named Nevada Taxpayer. I threw in Holly Vegas as the photographer to redirect to Holly’s book on Vegas. The brunette model held a US flag over her shoulders outside on the corner of Tropicana and Arville in Las Vegas. The Persian lingerie model wore a light blue slingshot bikini. I took a “We Are Closed” sign from a local hardware store, bought black and white letters in the alphabet, and glued three words above Closed, “United States Taxpayer”. The cashier from the lingerie store sewing my wife’s custom made bikinis off Tropicana near the Orleans casino introduced me to her fashion model. The showgirls have custom made high heels, swimwear, and thongs at the store. They are measured, fit, and introduced to thousands of yards of material with elaborate designs so that no two bikini underwear are the same. In the morning, I wake up, open a can of soup, and pour the gravy sauce over three chicken strips in an aluminum pie tin before throwing the lunch in the oven. I mainly survive off mason jars filled with slow brewed coffee. Minutes ago I ate my first meal for the day, because I can’t stop writing about the bad experiences Vegas has had to carry over Ensign. As I write these words, a TV show with Chris Hansen uncovers crime in an episode titled Undercover Las Vegas. We are such an amazing town. Could you imagine camera crews coming to your city to film Francis Ford Coppola’s Godfather, Martin Scorsese’s Casino, or televisions shows about catching criminals like CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Travel Channel gaming shows warning criminals not to try scams in Las Vegas, or Anthony Bourdain’s No Reservations warning tourists of what to eat while visiting Las Vegas. The time is now 12:40 pm. I just finished eating three chicken strips to Chris Hansen’s narration of Undercover Las Vegas. John Ensign thought he could get away with his crimes? In Las Vegas, Nevada? The Federal Election Commission received a complain from Melanie Sloan in July 2009. As Director of Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics, Melanie Sloan filed a complain with the Senate Ethics Committee. Three days ago as I mentioned earlier the Senate Ethics Committee issued an investigative report detailing John Ensign's crimes. The city is cover with investigators. How did John Ensign think he was going to bluff his way through this the way poker players are trying to shift sideways in their seats to read the other players cards? Las Vegas gambling tables have eyes in the ceiling, eyes in the tables for televised poker events screened on television, how did John Ensign think he was going to walk away from stealing taxes in Las Vegas to pay for sex with an employee married to a husband that happens to be his best friend? Vegas streets have as many cameras as casinos. You could ask Anthony Spilotro is he were still alive. Better yet, ask Mayor Oscar Goodman. The current mayor represented Anthony until Spilotro’s body went missing. Las Vegas has a history with Washington DC. Ensign knew better that to cheat locals in Las Vegas. The mafia killed Anthony Spilotro for almost exactly the same crime. John Caifano was sent by the Chicago mafia to run Las Vegas. He was sent to prison in 1980. Spilotro replaced Caifano with orders to protect their investment by insuring Lefty Rosenthal. After all, Rosenthal and Spilotro were best friends until they were tempted in Las Vegas. Spilotro started a sex scandal punishable by death with the Italian mafia. Anthony Spilotro was married to a lovely wife, had a resort town full of women willing to have sex with the made man in the mafia, and Anthony was drawn to the dangers of starting a sexual affair with Geri Rosenthal? Anthony Spilotro had no competition. He was as good as the Las Vegas Godfather when he ran the Entertainment Capital of the World as a representatives to the Chicago mafia. Anthony Spilotro was caught have sex with his bestfriend, Lefty’s wife Geri. Anthony was confronted and got defiant. Federal investigators heard about the financial transactions, relationships with friends, and Anthony Spilotro’s friends started to flip the way Tom Coburn is now. Everything was fine. There was no reason to distract friends from taking care of business. John Ensign could be running for President of the United States - And guess what, we locals in Vegas know he could have won, especially here, because Obama made dispariagging comments about Las Vegas that upset the governor and mayor to the point of not welcoming Obama back to Vegas and refusing to accept his apology. During the president's town hall meeting in Nashua, New Hampshire, Obama discussed spending by insulting Las Vegas, “When times are tough, you tighten your belts. You don't go buying a boat when you can barely pay your mortgage. You don't blow a bunch of cash on Vegas when you're trying to save for college.” He quickly apologized. After all, Harry Reid was running for re-election in Las Vegas, Nevada. His son, Rory Reid was in charge of Hillary Clinton’s campaign when Hillary ran for President of the United States. Mayor Oscar Goodman was furious. Goodman refered to the President’s psychological hangup when he defended Vegas by insisting, “I want the president to straighten this out. If not, he is not welcome in my city as far as I am concerned.” President Obama cannot escape from the Internet. Las Vegas locals are no illiterate. In fact, the mere environment makes them more clever than most communities around the world. John Ensign’s father owned a casino. Ensign lives in Las Vegas. How did he think C Street was going to go unnoticed, especially with Mark Sanford adding gas to the flames already growing? Senator John Ensign's Communications Director Tory Mazzola jumped away from the fire. Next Chief of Staff John Lopez felt his face burn red. We don’t know whether it was guilt or shame, because rumors around the health club claimed that the Senators staff knew everything about the bribery over the affair, kick backs; Well how could they not? The mistress and her husband had their son hired to collect money. The entire family worked under Ensign’s umbrella with his staff but as more people joined the swimming pool at my gym in Las Vegas during those scorching hot weeks in August 2009, swimmers lounged around throughout the day in the water and felt cool enough to confess.

Sex Scandal Hits Taxpayers - Not Washington D.C.

The mistress hurt moral amongst financial advisers in John Ensign’s inner circle. To put it on a mild scale, moral in the office must have been low July 9, 2009, when John Ensign admitted to paying hush money in the amount of $96.000. Now forget John’s staff members. Ensign implicated his father and mother by saying his parents issued the $96,000 check. The family freaked out. There was talk in the health club about denial. As in, John Ensign’s father the casino leader had no idea of the issued check. John’s mother, father, banker, all parties pointed to Ensign, he turned to point to his lawyer, an attorney probably familiar with Michael Ensign’s banking practices. The amounts jumped around from $12,000 to double $24,000 to the statement released on the web that listed five numbers together $96,000. If only Bob Woodward had search engines on the Internet when he investigated Nixon, Gerald Ford wouldn’t have been President of the United States, and George McGovern would have probably been elected to run the White House with Sargent Shriver. Shriver’s daughter, Maria is involved in a sex scandal with Meghan McCain’s nude campaign as I write the words with this sentence structure. The United States is swallowing large amounts of Viagra while Americans accuse Las Vegas of being liberal and insensitive to sin.

As I write this sentence in the month of May, Rick Santorum is being linked to John Ensign’s criminal behavior. Rick Santorum is running from President against Barack Obama. Dick Cheney announced that Barack Obama would be a one term President at the same time John Ensign is applauded at breakfast. GOP Senators literally rose as they clapped their hands in praise of the promiscuity. Rick Santorum is now implicated in the Ensign sex scandal. Santorum has been collecting money from Christians. Not unlike John Ensign, Rick Santorum has been running on a Christian Conservative platform. Panic has filled the air. Obama’s popularity over Pakistan’s Osama has made the Republican fight a puppet show with socks like Michele Bachmann trying to out talk Sarah Palin and Donald Trump. Since the death of Osama Bin Laden, Dick Cheney is in hyper drive to rewrite his memoir that was supposed to be released within weeks. The former President George W. Bush and Secretary of Defense, Donald Rumsfield wrote autobiographies that implicate their scandal now that Osama Bin Laden was found hiding on their watch as they claimed to protect the United States of America. George Bush had to cancel a tour of his book in Europe, because country officials prepared to arrest Bush for war crimes. Bush lied about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. At the weekly Republican senatorial lunch gathering, Ensign apologies to his colleagues. Elsewhere in Washington, Ensign is warmly received. Fox applauds. Friends of John Ensign in Las Vegas find that Doug Hampton’s letter wasn’t disclosed by Fox News on June 24, but much earlier. Fox tried to hide evidence. Fox not only guarded the hen house, Fox owned the hen house, controlled the hen house, and ate with their bedfellows at meetings supporting Ensign’s endorsement. Guilt by association, lawyers defending war criminals in Nazi Germany fought against this argument referred to as collective guilt. Melanie Sloan and John Ensign

Melanie Sloan’s team at Citizens for Ethics and Responsibility in Washington follows the money. They investigate Ensign only to find out the Senator might be lying about his rent along with the other Senators at Washington’s C Street Christian commune. Melanie Sloan doesn’t hold back. Her citizen’s team files complaints against Kansas City’s Sam Brownback, Tom Coburn, of course. After all, these Senators and more were brought to John Ensign’s investigators as having living with Ensign at C Street. The names continued to come forward Wamp, Stupak, Doyle, Shuler, and DeMint. John Ensign implicated eight GOP members including Rick Santorum at the time I write this sentence. Tomorrow there will probably be more Republicans added to the chilly stew. The Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics didn’t hold back on Nevada Governor Jim Gibbons either. Gibbons was awarded the prize for worst governor in the United States. Rumors floated around the pool from swimmers living part time in California that Arnold Schwarzenegger would have had an easier time running for re-election than Governor Gibbons and that says volumes. Arnold Schwarzenegger is the worst lawmaker on record in the Capital of Sacramento. Today is May 15. Three days ago when Ensign was being roasted by Barbara Boxer in Washington at the release of his ethics violations, Arnold’s wife decided to drop him for womanizing. I work with screenplay writers in Hollywood. They share offices with Casting Directors familiar with Arnold. Casting claims that Arnold can’t decide on his movies without his wife’s assistance. Casting claims that Maria made Arnold’s decision in Hollywood. So the fact remain, Maria made Arnold’s decisions in Sacramento, California as well as filmmaking adventures in Los Angeles. Yet Arnold Schwarzenegger was more popular with Jim Gibbons without a Governor’s Mansion in Carson City to live in. Melanie Sloan’s team found that the worst Governor Gibbons violated campaign finance law by accepting illegal corporate donations. Jim assaulted that cocktail waitress in Las Vegas. He used taxpayers money to push his affair forward as he was being investigated by Congress. He lied about his tax stand. And Gibbons got malicious towards reporters when the camera caught him spending tax payers money on a wife of a former supporter while on business in Washington DC. This nearly makes me giddy. My son might have a chance at the governor’s seat by the time he graduates from high school with the way scandals grow in the dry desert wind.

Reporting on the Searchlight, Nevada Rally Out in the Sands

Personally I ignored the report coming from inside Las Vegas. It was a dead subject: Ensign’s retirement. Donald Trump spun more attention to himself by calling himself the spokesman for the birthier movement. The birthier movement struck three cords with me: One, and the most important, tourists return to Las Vegas to get married. We are the Wedding Capital of the World. Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe impersonators, and preachers offer quick low cost weddings at wedding chapels along the boulevard, but all married couples return to the Las Vegas Welcome sign near Mandalay Bay. The Birthiers paid money donated by supporters to place a billboard asking for Barack Obama’s birth certificate in the background of photographs taken by newly weds at the Las Vegas Welcome sign. Why not the streets off the boulevard like Flamingo, Sahara, Desert Inn, or Tropicana? Why not off the freeway? Why upset tourists coming to Las Vegas to get married with such unguided anger. The birthier issue was stupid, but why rain the newly weds wedding? Second, traffic. I remember rallies in San Francisco where activists shut down the Golden Gate Bridge. Many of whom were from out of town. The Birthiers joined with Tea Party activists to protest at the busiest intersection of Sunset and Eastern. Traffic madness created congestion. What if a lady was going into labor? What is an ambulance had to get by to save a driver after a car accident? Stop acting like Bolsheviks marching on Red Square with Stalin. Third and last, I might not see my aunt again, because Tea Party activists talked her to driving from Michigan’s upper peninsula to Searchlight. She lost tens of thousands of dollars in oil, gas, repairs after damage caused driving across the country, and all for what? Coyotes at night, desert winds, blowing dust, on a two lane road between Boulder City and Jean, Nevada. The Tea Party talked her into being a birthier and people ridiculed the humor as she drove across country to California wanting to talk about Obama’s birth in Kenya. Searchlight was as much a waste of time as the efforts put into a birthier billboard behind the Welcome to Las Vegas sign. Where is the industry is complaining about a sitting President when the nation is trying to resurrect the economy to create jobs?

Divorce and Politics

Admission of guilt, was the speech an admission of guilt to the ethics investigation? Who tipped him off? Worst than using his family as a buffer, can’t Ensign be real by saying, “It has been a pleasure to serve the people of Nevada, but I am going to retire from politics and spend more time with my family.”


The Senator is thinking about his family now after this insanity surrounding the career of key Senators in the U.S. Senate? I bet John Ensign returns to Doug Hamptons wife in the same manner Mark Sanford reunited with his soul mate after Jenny Sanford finally moved out of the house. Ensign said, “Our families were close. That closeness put me into situations which led to my inappropriate behaviour. We caused deep pain to both families and for that I am sorry.”
