Dawn Gibbons wouldn’t leave the Governor’s mansion. Divorce papers were filed May 2, 2008, but she sent Governor Jim Gibbons packing. Usually governors deal with budget battles, fiscal responsibility, and issues surrounding higher education. Like most visitors to Las Vegas, Nevada’s governor was living out of a suitcase. The financial crisis that started in 2007 had residences worried. Supporters worried the Governor would break his tax pledge. Eventually Gibbons did, but this was a taxing issue, and maybe Jim was distracted, because Dawn wouldn’t leave the Governor’s mansion. The comedy would have been funny if Nevada wasn’t faced with a financial meltdown. Instead the top law of the land entertained voters with an Abbott and Costello sketch known as Who is on First?
