Tax Party at Searchlight, Nevada

Winds blew sands quickly across Searchlight. There was nothing out in Searchlight, but time as fans waited for Sarah Palin. I was surprised, because Sarah Palin had a base in Las Vegas, but she refused to step into the city. She would dip her toe in the pool near Henderson to see if the water was warm enough. She did the same thing in San Francisco. Sarah Palin always stayed clear of the city of Las Vegas. She spoke far from the epicenter as if being downtown insulted her political ideology. I know because I was writing my fourth book about her advertising practices. Sarah Palin was running for President, running against the current President, selling books, autographing books, and invited to host a TV show that was eventually cancelled due to poor ratings. Still, why pick Searchlight to start a national campaign? Police warned listeners. Law enforcement made their message clear. They weren’t prepared for the number of people that expected to drive down the two lane road into Searchlight. I myself got lost and I live two hours away, but occasionally we get lost so that we can find what we are unsure of what we are looking for. This isn’t a play with words, but directions that lead up to a church, library, and school yard. My journey began on the Veterans Memorial Hwy between Las Vegas and Hoover Dam. Blowing dust will blind you outside. Air filters draw in the sand. I stopped at a gas station to eat at McDonalds. The stop can’t be called an intersection. There were no streets. No life to the south. So I returned north. Signs pointed to storage facilities for boats. Places to park RVs. I turned on Cottonwood Cove Road to find a school yard, library, and church. The school was named Harry Reid Elementary School K thru 5. The Tea Party tried to attack Harry Reid by holding their first event at the birthplace of Harry Reid which was Searchlight, Nevada.
